Indonesia has the world’s largest tug fleet, at around 3,600 vessels, representing 20% of the global fleet in terms of number of vessels, with a combined bollard pull of 6.6M tonnes. Domestic tug numbers are expected to grow over the next five years as ports are upgraded and population growth drives demand for bulk product transportation, particularly coal.

PT. Cakra Buana Resources Energi (CBRE) is a shipping company speciality in tug and barge based in Jakarta, Indonesia. All vessel were operate with BKI classification and registered SIUPAL No. 13/1/SIUPAL/PMDN.

CBRE is a solution for international clients as the Indonesian government Trade Ministry Regulation No. 82/2017 on the Terms of Use of National Shipping and Insurance Companies for the Export and Import of Certain Goods. This regulation, which was originally scheduled to be implemented in May 2018 (but its implementation had already been postponed to May 2020), would have made it mandatory to use local vessels (owned by Indonesian sea shipping companies) for the export of coal, crude palm oil (CPO), and rice.
